HMCS Vancouver departed 10 July 2011 for the Mediterranean for OP MOBILE, the CF participation in Operation UNIFIED PROTECTOR, the NATO-led effort to impose on Libya the arms embargo and no-fly zone, and to protect civilians and civilian-populated areas in Libya.
