A study to assess the health and well-being of Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) Department of National Defence (DND) personnel, and in particular Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members, is commencing.
Researchers would like to learn about the experiences of BIPOC CAF members, both Regular and Reserve Force, accessing and using health care services over the past seven years. Former BIPOC members of the CAF who are working at DND and who have accessed and received treatment in the past seven years are also eligible for the study.
In addition, researchers would like to determine factors related to the overall health and well-being of BIPOC CAF members. The role of intersectional factors (e.g., gender; Regular vs. Reserve Force status) will also be explored with respect to the experiences of BIPOC CAF members.
For more information on the study, please contact Dr. Donna Pickering at donna.pickering2@forces.gc.ca.
